Q5: Feedback from others
Feedback
Dane-I really liked how you presented the shots especially when the camera cuts over Kieran's shoulder and you can see Jon-Jo. Also I liked how the music fits into the scene but a negative could be you couldn't really hear Jon-Jo and Kieran speak so sound is something you could improve on.Dan W- I think you presented the 180 degree rule very well because it didn't confuse us, however the two actors didn't look at each other so it wasn't very professional. Also I liked the two shots over the shoulder so it looked like the two actors knew they were going to meet and it created some tension.
Dan H- I liked how you presented the match-on-action, to say it was your fist time I think it went really well and how the music fits with you coming out the door. Alternatively, there was problems with continuity, like with Jon-Jo's jeans and the lighting which I'm sure will get improved next time.

Q2:Areas of success
Areas of success
I think our group was quite successful, we worked together as a team and produced a decent film. For example I think we used a range of good camera shots. We used an extreme close up, a tilted angle and over the shoulder shots. Furthermore, we stuck to the 180 degree rule and used the cameras quite well.I'm really impressed of how we used the cameras for the first time to say me and my group haven't really used this equipment for filming before. The match on action went well more than we thought we would! We handed our time well to meet the deadline in time but the tricky part was the editing!

Preliminary task
Hey guys!
For my upcoming preliminary task we have to film a short scene with two characters having some sort of conversation. This will involve skills like filming, editing and acting. We will be filming inside our school (Tupton Hall). Our short scene will involve me walking up to someone (Dan) and having a short conversation with also an exchange of items with him but making sure it is discrete, kind of like undercover!!! There are 3 things we will have to include in the task which I am going to describe to you:

Match on action-Match on action is a technique of filming used in many sorts of films. It consists of connecting 2 shots together in which a character finishes off an action in the second shot that was started in the first one, for example a clip of a character walking through a door in which he opens the door being filmed from behind then the clip cuts to him walking through from the other one.

180 degree rule-The 180 Degree Rule is that two characters in a scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If you don't follow the 180 Degree Rule, or break it, it disrupts the scene and disorients the audience. However sometimes you can break it and it can work in some cases, for example two people sat side by side but facing the opposite ways. If the camera is down the middle it breaks the rule and also looks good!
Shot/reverse shot-Shot reverse shot is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character, and the other character looking back. since they are looking at each other in opposite directions is shows the are in conversation.

Camera shots & practice
Hey guys, this was my task in media to take different types of camera shots and angles and to present them in some sort of narrative. I have also explained the effect of these types of shots and why they are useful. In my narrative you see a bully going to his victim and bullying him, it is fairly straight forward but enjoy!

My first blog!
Hey guys! I'm Kieran. Im 16 years old and I currently attend Tupton Hall Sixth Form in Chesterfield. I am studying Media Studies, History, Business and English Literature. For Media I have to create my own blog!
This is my very first post as a blogger and I am looking forward to the future to see where it takes me! My interest in Media is the creativity of how it is produced and published. My favourite film is The Wolf Of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, it is about a business man who becomes rich by defrauding wealthy investors.
Furthermore, my favourite TV show is Breaking Bad. In my opinion everything is brilliant about Breaking Bad! The plot is about a normal highschool teacher what finds out he has cancer and he wants to leave some money for his family when he dies, so he hooks up with an ex-pupil and invests in the drug trade! The whole series are so intense and it gets better every episode! I like the way it is made too, the camera shots are very detailed and works well with the atmosphere.
